Saivite Tamil Foundation - Rishi' visit to Sri Lanka

Event:   Thailand Temple Project  visit by Rishi Thoundunathan

Where:  Phangnga, Thailand.

When:  October, 2009

Rishi Thondunathan was invited by the Sri Andaman Narayanan Devasthanam Foundation to visit their future temple project.

This temple project is a unique project in Thailand, where a group has come together to revive an ancient Tamil-style Hindu Temple in the province of Phangnga. The temple was originally built by Pallava traders more than 1200 years ago. Some years after that, the temple was destroyed but the Narayana Deity of the temple was preserved and is now in the Phuket Museum. This Devasthanam group headed by an ethnic Indian-Thai national is now working with other Thais to build a traditional
South Indian-style Hindu temple here in Phangnga. It will truly be a one-of-a-kind temple in Thailand.

Rishi had good meetings with the Devasthanam Foundation members and affirmed his support for the project.

Here are some pictures.
